One of our more common patient complaints here at Norton Dental Ancaster is wisdom tooth pain. We regularly perform wisdom tooth removal for patients between the ages of 17 and 25. We also provide emergency wisdom tooth removal to patients in need of immediate pain relief.
Wisdom teeth sometimes grow in crooked, sideways, or misaligned resulting in wisdom tooth pain. In other cases, the wisdom teeth become impacted and are prevented from erupting. Wisdom tooth symptoms may include:
- Trouble opening the mouth
- Bad breath
- Crowding due to shifting teeth
- Trouble swallowing or chewing
- Swollen gums
- Tooth decay
- Gum disease
- Jaw stiffness
During your wisdom tooth extraction consult with Dr. Taimish, we will examine your overall oral health and determine whether wisdom tooth removal is an appropriate procedure for you.
Norton Dental Ancaster offers sedation dentistry for apprehensive patients to ensure a comfortable and stress-free experience.
After wisdom tooth removal, Dr. Taimish will prescribe pain medication and antibiotics to help promote fast recovery. You will also be provided with a wisdom tooth removal aftercare kit complete with post-operative instructions which will be clearly explained to you both verbally and in writing.
Allow a few days for wisdom tooth removal recovery. Wisdom tooth removal complications may result from smoking within 24 hours after the procedure or drinking through a straw.
Wisdom tooth removal prices will be discussed with you during your consultation with Dr. Taimish. Wisdom tooth removal cost will be determined by the severity of each case and whether additional procedures will be required to ensure successful wisdom tooth extraction.
